What singers?

Beyoncé, Miley Cirus, Gaga, Rita Ora, Niki Minaj, Kardassian, Rhianna

Madona's legacy; contemporary pseudo-singers are stripping and raunching as their only asset to get media focus attention. The music scene thus presents sex related stereotypes and figures for teens to grab on as their idols.

It's important to understand the dynamics behind that (marketing).
Genuine artists (real musicians and singers) can not produce new fresh material every month. Writing music is an endeavor, it takes at least six to eight months (average). But, the Media (radio, tv, magazines) and Music Industry (production) have become such huge businesses, that Big-Machine needs a regular incom. And so, they come up with anything that sells, of which the easiest way is to use sex.

Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders)
"Today's young singers are porn stars trying to make records!".
She has blasted young singers for selling sex ahead of music. She says, "There's a definite division of what I'd call porn stars trying to make records, and then musicians. If you go and see Kate Bush, you'll see a real musician. If a girl walks on stage and starts playing like Jimi Hendrix, believe me, no one will be asking her to take her clothes off. If they're under pressure to get their kit off (get naked), maybe they should just be making porn films. Maybe they're in the wrong game.".

Shirley Bassey tells popstars to cover up!
Speaking at a children's charity event about see-through dresses worn by the likes of Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian: "It is like they are all in competition with each other. Who can wear the skimpiest outfit? I mean, come on (...) When I saw the Met Ball the other night I was like, Excuse me? If these girls are talented they don't need that. I say, go in the studio and sing your heart out and get a vocal coach and strengthen your vocal cords. They should consider their responsibility as role models. Of course it is a bad impression for young people to follow, because they want to dress like that. It is like, Who can wear the least amount of coverage?'".

The repercussion to that is, since the media are occupied with strip-n-singers display, true genuine artists are left behind with no coverage at all. Until one does something extravagant enough. So, they turn to social media (internet) and become Self-Producing-Publishing Enterprises, which is not bad! They are becoming autonomous. And the same with the public, everybody can access the music they like, anytime, everywhere. And this phenomenon is progressively changing the music business mechanism.

In this context, the real music scene on internet does present amazing artists, exceptionally good music, world wide, of all styles and genres...
The true meaning to Multi-culturalism!
